The $2,000 DvD player

My credit card is going to be cleaned off this month and, in order to continue to build good credit (I had to delcare Bankruptcy 3+ years ago), I need to keep stuff on it. I also had been informed that the larger the amount, the more the credit jumps. Now, I'm not a fool, and wouldn't put 10 grand on it, but 1-2K (something I could pay off in about 3-6 months) would be good.

So I thought to myself - what could I use that was around 2K?

First thought was a purchase of armaments and body armor - I guess New Orleans got to me a bit, and with the lovely fault lines around, such a catastrophe isn't beyond hitting the bay area. But I don't need more guns.

Then I thought - a laptop! I always wanted to have a laptop. I don't REALLY need a laptop but all my friends have laptops so why not me?

But, of course, if I am going to buy a laptop, I should buy one that is a gaming laptop so that I can head to my friend's houses (if invited) and be able to have LAN parties or whatever.

After much searching, and reccomendations from friends, I have come up with this machine:

Upgrade to a 3.2 GHz Processor, 1GB RAM and a 80GB Hard drive, and we are just $20 over my 2K mark (I don't know if there is a major difference between 3.0 and 3.2GHz, but if it is just $45, eh why not?)

Now, I was going to wait until the end of the month to buy this, but I also just got the DvD collection of Firefly and, well, I don't have a DvD player. GASP! Heck, I don't even have a microwave - I'm literally a Luddite.

So, I'll probably buy it this week some time. I should be gettin' a paycheck so that will make things feel better for me.
